The Coffee Region
Is located in the center of western Colombia and is part of the Andean region, on the western and central mountain ranges. As it's name say, is the region famous for growing and production of a majority of Colombian Coffee.
Is located between Caldas, Risaralda, Quindio, the north region of valle del Cauca, south west of Antioquia and the north-west of Tolima. This region has approximately 2.700.000 inhabitants, Pereira is the most populated city, has 700.000 inhabitants.
The famous icon "Juan Valdez" represented by a country peasant wearing carriel, hat and poncho and accompanied by a mule, created by the National Federation of Coffee growers of Colombia, has become a triumph of advertising communication.
In this region you can found a nice weather, amazing landscapes, friendly people, delicious food, souvenirs a good price, nature a lot, peace, and beautiful cities and towns.
In 2011, unesco declared the coffee region as world heritage.
The Languge in this region is Spanish, as in all of
Colombia. The people of this region is very friendly, collaborating persons and smiling.
